Blur faces
Find the faces in a JPEG, PNG or WebP photo automatically and blur, pixelate or cover them before you share it. You can also hide any other part of the photo by hand.

Drag a photo here or paste it
JPEG, PNG, or WebP, up to 50 MB
The first time, the tool downloads its face detector (up to 16.1 MB). Your browser usually keeps it for later visits.
How to use
- Drag a photo into the box, choose it, or paste it.
- Check the areas: turn off wrong ones, add missed ones, pick an effect and press “Apply”.
- Compare before and after, then download the photo.
Tips
Check every face
Automatic detection can miss faces that are turned away, very small or partly hidden. Look over the whole photo and add an area for anything that should not be seen.
Black fill for full privacy
Blur and pixelation leave a little shape and color. If a face must not be recognizable at all, choose “Black fill”.
Hide more than faces
Use “Add area” for number plates, house numbers, name tags or screens. Move and resize the area, or type exact values.
Look closely before sharing
Compare before and after, and look closely at small faces in the background before you share the photo.
Frequently asked questions
Didn't find your answer? Write to us: [email protected]
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Faces are found and hidden in your browser, on your own device. Only the face detector itself is downloaded, the first time you use the tool.
Does the tool recognize who is in the photo?
No. The model only finds where faces are, so that they can be hidden. It does not compare faces or identify anyone.
Can a blurred face be made visible again?
Strong blur or pixelation is hard to undo, but some shape and color remain. Black fill leaves nothing to recover. The download is a new file; the original on your device is not changed.
Why was a face not found?
Faces in profile, turned away, very small, blurry or partly covered are often missed. Add an area for them by hand with “Add area”.
Which model finds the faces?
BlazeFace (full range) from Google MediaPipe, under the Apache 2.0 license. It was converted to the ONNX format to run in the browser; the license and this change are noted in the model file.
Is there a size limit?
Files can be up to 50 MB. Images up to 100 megapixels work on a computer, and up to 16.7 on phones and tablets, because mobile browsers have less memory for images.
